Hello lovely people. First, I want to apologize for the long delay! Coursework took its course on my student-life. Ignore the badly structured pun. Second, London Fashion Weekend! I know its a bit late but I wanted to share all the great designs and trends showcased at LF Weekend and the amazing experience we (Katya and I) had in London. This post is going to be in parts. The first part (this one) brings to you the best and hottest trends at London Fashion Week. The theme they picked for the weekend show was Swan Vesta, drawing inspiration from Black Swan. Surprise! Ignore the sarcasm. But we loved it. The darkness that one associates with Black Swan really came out in the designs picked off the LFW catwalk.

Part II will look at colour-blocking, another trend picked out by the LFW stylists. Amazing colours, just what I needed to remind me spring is around the corner!

Part III will look at the two upcoming designers that the LF Weekend show focused on, Bora Aksu and Mark Fast. I'll put up my favourites from the two collections.

The LF Weekend was more than just the show. Designers and brands had set up stalls and were selling their best stuff at upto 75% off. There were rooms designated for certain products and designers at amazing prices with really good pieces from the past season and classics as well. Picture # 2 is one such room. It was full of shoes and bags, with shoes stealing the show! Juicy Couture flats for 20 quid, heels for 30 and boots for 50 quid! I bought these beautiful green flats from Juicy Couture that are going to be perfect for spring. For a photo check out what I posted on Twitter here and you can follow me on Twitter here

Picture #1: The show starts! Get ready London. Its the hottest trends at the LFW.

Picture #2: The Juicy Couture Room! and a Sea of Shoes (literally). What's more, shoes at amazing prices, If...you can find your size and the other shoe isn't in someone else's hand. Katya and I (we are not ashamed!) hung around the room for a few hours, since every time the table would start looking empty the staff would take out more (and different) shoes from boxes hidden beneath the tables!

Picture #3: Nudes, Buns and Bows. The classics reinvented.

Picture #4: More nudes with some nice dazzle in the copper piping along the waist and neck. Perfect with a great shiny clutch for an elegant outfit at a glamorous party. Focus on the furry wrist-band. Mmm.. always love furry little things.

Picture #5: The white-tee-with-a-classy-skirt trend. Foolproof for flipping over from day to night. Wear in the day with a blazer, switch over to party mode with a chunky black neckpiece and a shiny clutch in your hand and black pumps.

Picture #6: More nude and netral tones with a thin black belt. The best part of this outfit is the structure of the skirt and the shirt because of the cinching of the waist with the belt. Fairytale-esque yet modern.

Picture #7: The ever-classic LBD but with flowers and net. Paired with fashion-socks and black pumps. Need I say more?

Picture #8: Epic Black Swan avatar. The cinching at the waist to give the appearance of a tutu-skirt, the black hold-ups captures the essence of Black Swan. Notice the very stunning velvet black collar, a great addition to low neck tees to dress it up a bit. Refer Picture #5 for pairing the collar with a white tee.

Well folks, thats it. Hope you liked the picks from the 'Best Trends of LFW 2011!' Watch this space for the colour-blocking trend! Up Next!!

xx
